Our second year of this particular coffee but our tenth coffee from Jose and his sons. They have consistently produced high quality coffees and this one from their larger San Francisco farm in Santa Ana is no different. Offering more acidity and complexity than before, we feel that unlike previous offerings from these guys, this one leans more towards lighter filter brewing than espresso. 

Jose Antonio Salaverria's Las Cruces group continues to push boundaries in El Salvador. Their use of organic pesticides and fertilisers as well as investment in eco-pulpers keeps them at the sharp end of coffee processing in their country. Not only are they innovating in farming and processing, but their investment back into their surrounding communities is unparalleled and one of the other reasons we love to buy their coffees. Providing healthcare, building schools, paying labourers well, make these guys worthy of admiration and we’re excited to welcome back La Independencia with all its nuances and subtleties this year.
