This is the first of two coffees from the Baragwi Cooperative we’re offering this season. Situated in the well known coffee region of Kirinyaga on Mount Kenya, this lot features coffees from hundreds of smallholder farmers based around the washing station, or factory as they call them in Kenya. Most farmers grow SL28 & 34 but increasingly, more are mixing new varieties like Batian and Ruiru in with the SL’s. At 1750m, this coffee is everything you’d expect from a big classic Kenyan coffee. Let it cool and you’ve fruit juice in the cup, but we’re really enjoying the slightly more unexpected notes of clove and dried fruit.
