We’re thrilled to be bringing you Ana Maria’s new harvest for 2025. Having her wonderful coffee for 2 consecutive years reflects our growing partnership with her and our commitment, in spite of challenges, to continue to buy her coffee.
You might be wondering why Brazilian beans have gotten so pricey lately? Essentially, Mother Nature has thrown a curveball at the world’s coffee powerhouse. In recent years, the country has faced its worst drought in decades, scorching coffee fields and slashing harvests - some estimates suggest next year’s crop could drop by as much as 25%. With Brazil supplying nearly 40% of the globe’s coffee, this shrink in supply has sent prices soaring, with Arabica beans hitting record highs above $4 per pound in early 2025.
It’s not just the drought, though — wildfires have ravaged farms, and unpredictable rains have made recovery tougher than ever. Add in rising global demand and climate shifts that keep farmers on edge, and you’ve got a perfect storm driving up costs. Ana’s coffee reflects the resilience of growers who are battling these odds to deliver exceptional flavour, but it’s no secret that quality this good comes at a premium right now. We really hope you enjoy it as much as you did last year!
