Spring is in the air, and we are launching the perfect coffee to celebrate; Musaza Lot 3 from Rwanda.
Musaza means “elder” in Kinyarwanda — a word that carries weight, reverence, and a deep sense of respect in Rwanda’s national language.
This lot was processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station in Muhanga, Southern Province — a region known for its steady climate and careful craft. After harvest, whole cherries are laid out on raised beds, where they’re dried slowly under the Rwandan sun. Over 26–33 days, the fruit is turned and meticulously hand-sorted, allowing sugars and ripe fruit character to permeate the seed.
Once perfectly dried, the coffee travels to Kigali for milling. There, it’s dehusked, polished, and carefully graded — the final refinement before it begins its next journey with our friends Omwani coffee and finally to us in Belfast.
Musaza is a beautifully bright and sweet coffee and we can't think of a better coffee to celebrate the long awaited arrival of spring!
